STS Enterprise News

Congrats to all of the graduates of our pilot program R.E.A.L. The R.E.A.L. Program stands for Real Estate Aspiring Leaders. We created a free program to expose high school seniors and college students to the real estate industry. We realized several young people desire to get into real estate; however, they don’t have the resources nor the network to explore those opportunities firsthand.

We thank our volunteers and speakers who dedicated time to help us create our curriculum and host workshop sessions.

ELITE Update

ELITE is in full effect! ELITE is excited to announce we have extended our onsite workshops at Lemoyne Owen College! Elite held a high-energy networking session between the college students and their coaches. The following day the college students had an impactful and intimate conversation about mental health. Our college students are in store for an impact year! Stay tuned for more updates!

STRIVE UPDATE

STRIVE is in full effect. STRIVE kicked off its program with a packed orientation for the parents and students on Friday. On Saturday, students spent half the day with the coaches and their peers, participating in team-building and culture-building activities! Some of the students were so excited that they invite their friends!

We Do This Spotlight highlights individuals who have supported the mission and vision of STS Enterprise through financial investment, volunteerism, in-kind services, and, most importantly, participants who SET THE STANDARD!

In 2000, the future founders of Transnetyx, Bob Bean and Tim Hodge, asked a really good question, “Why can’t we automate genotyping?”

Four years later, Transnetyx launched the world's first fully automated genotyping system for detecting transgenic, knockout, knock-in, SNP and CRISPR mutations in animal research models.

Fast forward to today, and Transnetyx has genotyped more than 30 million samples in 24 or 72 hours with 99.97% accuracy, and introduced a full suite of complementary services, including Genetic Monitoring, Microbiome Analysis, Transnetyx Tissue, and the Colony + AMI software.

Transnetyx's mission is to provide the most efficient path to discovery for researchers across the globe. Transnetyx has the technology and processes to provide faster, easier, and more accurate results worldwide to biomedical researchers. By optimizing resources, Transnetyx has paved the way for research to advance and deeper understandings to emerge.

Meet Kim Tilus

Setting the Standard Enterprise (STS) welcomes its first full-time hire in its 10-Year existence. Ms. Kim Tilus joins STS Enterprise as its Chief Collaboration Officer (CCO). Kim is a native of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and has over a decade of experience in higher education leadership providing supervision, advisement, and mentoring services to various institutional stakeholders. She is passionate about empowering, engaging, and educating students to be global change agents.

Kim will work with STS Enterprise’s Executive Director and President in this role.

Please help us welcome Ms. Kim Tilus to the STS family.

What made you consider joining the STS family?
Well, I was working at a local college here in Memphis. Jeremy and I scheduled some time for him to potentially recruit students there for STS. Our conversation evolved to talking about our passions, which mine is developing college students. There he asked me to visit an Elite session and from there I was hooked. I love what STS is doing in the community through Strive and Elite and truly empowering Black students.

What will your role entail as the organization’s new Chief Collaboration Officer (CCO)?
My role as the CCO will be collaborating with all STS programs to ensure they move in the same direction. I will be working on grants to ensure STS is financially supported, and I will also be capturing the STS story by collecting data and reporting our impact.

Charles E. Carpenter, A Professional Corporation founded in April 1978, officially changed the name and legal structure of the law firm to Carpenter Law, PLLC (the "Firm") in 2018. Their Firm's principal office located in the historic Tri-State Bank Building on the iconic Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee, and the secondary office is located in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Celebrating more than forty years of delivering successful legal services to the southeastern region, their Firm is well established in the municipal finance industry and has been nationally recognized as sole Bond Counsel since 1992. Meet Kim Tilus
