Bringing Out the Leaders is hosted by STS Enterprise and is recognized as one of the Mid-South’s largest collegiate networking initiatives.

The event intentionally connects college students with everyday professionals, young professionals, and community leaders directly on campus.

Traditionally, students are encouraged to leave campus to network. STS Enterprise flipped that model by bringing professionals directly to students—removing barriers to access and creating meaningful, relationship-driven connections where students already live and learn.

Since it started in 2015 Bringing Out the Leaders has gathered over 2,500 college students and professionals together, providing students with the chance to:

• Build social capital

• Expand professional networks

• Gain real-world career insight

• See themselves as valuable contributors within their own community

We recognize the real challenges college students face when it comes to accessing professional networks, gaining industry insight, and navigating the transition from college to career. Many students are encouraged to seek networking opportunities off campus—yet barriers such as access, confidence, and proximity often stand in the way.

Bringing Out the Leaders (BOTL) was created to remove those barriers.

BOTL is an intentional on-campus leadership and networking experience designed to bring professionals directly to students—creating meaningful opportunities for connection, learning, and leadership development in an environment where students feel supported and empowered.

BOTL is designed to:

• Intentionally connect college students with young professionals and seasoned leaders

• Build social capital and career exposure for students

• Provide scholarships, professional development, and mentorship opportunities

• Affirm students as future leaders and critical contributors to the region

Each year, BOTL features:

• A professional networking experience

• A leadership panel discussion

• Community leaders and special guests from across the region

• Scholarships and student recognition

• A message of empowerment, encouragement, and continued engagement
