Scholarship Opportunities

Since 2014, the Step Ahead Scholarship has awarded $1.9 million to 498 women in Memphis and Shelby County, helping remove financial barriers to higher education. In partnership with Girls Inc. of Memphis, we support women ages 17-35 in pursuing their educational goals.

Scholars receive financial aid and serve as ambassadors for A Step Ahead Foundation, advocating for reproductive health education and access to long-acting reversible contraception (LARC).

Eligibility

✔️ Women ages 17-35
✔️ Shelby County resident (2+ years) OR attended high school in Shelby County
✔️ Must apply to an accredited college, technical, or vocational school

🔹 Scholarships are awarded based on application strength and financial need. Recipients may reapply for a second year. Apply online starting February 3, 2025!

STS Enterprise Corporation proudly celebrates Desmond and Dr. Jasmine Jackson as they continue their commitment to empowering future leaders through the Jackson Family Scholarship for a second year! This $1,500 award supports an STS Elite collegiate student majoring in business or healthcare, recognizing academic excellence, community involvement, and faith.

Last year’s recipient, Ashanti Bell, is now excelling at the Shelby County Health Department, a testament to the scholarship’s impact.

The Sean O. Calhoun Man of Principle Scholarship is a prestigious award established to honor the legacy of Sean O. Calhoun and his commitment to integrity, leadership, and community service. Now in its 4th year, this $500 scholarship recognizes young men who exemplify these values in their academic achievements, character, and community contributions.

Scholarship Details:

Now in its 7th year, the STS Enterprise Making Excellence the Norm Scholarship continues to recognize and reward students who embody the STS standard of leadership, excellence, and perseverance in their academic and professional pursuits. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to an outstanding STS Elite collegiate student who consistently strives for excellence and impact in their community.

STS Elite Alumnus Preston Anderson is giving back in a powerful way by launching the Preston Anderson Consistency Scholarship—a $500 award for a LeMoyne-Owen College student who exemplifies dedication, follow-through, and a commitment to excellence.
